After a meagre food parcel provided by Chartwells to children eligible for free school meals went viral. Questions have arisen on how much £30 of food actually looks like, and whether the current method is outdated and needs revision.
A new Lincoln Community Larder food bank service has been set up by people in Martin and surrounding villages to support those in their community who are in need of food and supplies. The new service means people unable to get into Lincoln can collect food parcels from a central point in Martin instead.
